"The ordinary acts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest."

-Thomas Moore

HERE'S WHAT STARTED IT ALL

THE MAZE CO STORY

The Maze Co is inspired by founder Duangkamon’s experiences shopping the old-world marketplace of her childhood in Thailand, the natural materials and textures bring a sense of warmth and authenticity. With a focus on sustainable and eco-friendly products, The Maze Co offers locally made, handcrafted decor, and kitchenware from global artisans all over the world. Whether it is in the kitchen, living room, or entryway, The Maze Co will transform your home with these minimal, timeless, and beautiful pieces — connecting your home to the world.

Growing up, Duangkamon’s family had local, hand-made items around her home; works of beauty that remained useful and practical. Tired of lifeless, mass produced items, she now seeks to bring elements of her childhood into her new home in the United States. Through these natural bowls and rustic, handmade decor, Duangkamon feels more connected to her home country and the broader world. This is where the idea and the mission of The Maze Co began.

With a career in architecture and eye for beauty, she is a perfect intersection of form and function; curating collections for The Maze Co is second nature for Duangkamon. She loves meeting new people, traveling, and experiencing different cultures.

What was once a dream quickly turned to reality as Duangkamon used her roots and familial connections to scour and comb her homeland for products of the highest quality made by the best artisans and even designed original pieces herself. The Maze Co brings artistry, stories, and culture from abroad to your home.

OUR WHY

WHY THE MAZE CO?

We are each on our own winding path through life, but we don’t go through life alone. At the Maze Co, we seek to connect your path to others’, creating an intricate and beautiful maze. Every time you bring a Maze Co product into your home, you are making a connection with an artisan from across the world. You are reminded of this connection every time you set the table with your palm wood mugs, or are answering the question, "Where did you get that wooden bowl?" The Maze Co is at the heart of where unlikely paths connect.

did you know?

Our mango bowls are handmade from the wood of a mature mango tree, cut to revitalize one that has grown too tall. Why mango wood? There are many different types of wood we could use, but we feel mango wood is one of a kind. Besides the beautiful aesthetic, we use mango wood in an effort to reduce negative impacts on our ecosystem. Instead of being discarded after it stops bearing fruit, we use the old mango tree wood for our products. Then, new mango trees are planted. These new mango trees now supply good, sweet mangos again.

Bamboo is the most sustainable wood and is fast-growing, absorbs carbon dioxide, and produces 30 times more oxygen than other trees. This eco-friendly product is both biodegradable and compostable. And with its naturally antibacterial properties, it is the perfect material choice for your kitchen. We keep our bamboo natural and untreated with any chemicals.

The coconut tree is known as the “tree of life” because every part of the tree can be used to sustain life. What would otherwise be discarded once the coconut is harvested is instead turned into a sustainable, unique piece for your home. Our eco-friendly coconut bowls are sanded by hand and waste-free.

Our palm wood features a beautiful all-natural pattern with fascinating color variation. It works well for food and beverages that are hot or cold, perfect for things like acai bowls, poke bowls, or anything natural like that.
